The GBAS, designed by U.S. based Honeywell International Inc., is the world's only GBAS approved by the FAA. It enables highly accurate precision approaches by using GPS signals that provide highly reliable position information for the aircraft. The GBAS curved approach into runway results in noise reduction, improved fuel consumption, and expanded airport arrival/departure capacity. The GBAS is currently being used in airports worldwide, and is expected to become a world standard in future.
